Happy Monday everyone!! We’re off to a gray and rainy start in DC, but at least we had glorious weather this past weekend! On Friday night, Chris and I wanted to take it easy, so we just headed to dinner at Piola, which is a fancy little pizza place a few blocks away from my apartment. We started off with the Peperonata Palmi, which reminded me a lot of my ratatouille! It’s basically a stew of sweet peppers, zucchini, onion, and tomato, but served with corn chips! It was definitely an interesting presentation that I never would have thought to do.

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend, and was able to keep cool! It was h-o-t in DC! But, the heat didn’t stop me from venturing out, and enjoying some delicious food! Chris had a friend in town on Friday, so the three of us had dinner at Cafe Asia, which is right around the corner from my apartment. I love the sushi there! The four rolls above are the Cajun, the Chesapeake Bay, the Firecracker, and the Spicy Tuna. The Chesapeake Bay is my favorite! Shrimp tempura, fresh crab, and avocado, yum! Below are the other three rolls we ordered, the Spicy Crab, Shrimp Tempura, and the Fresh Salmon roll. No leftovers for this group! After dinner, we headed into the city to catch up with some of Chris’ friends. Great conversation, and food made for a fantastic Friday evening!
Happy Monday! I hope you all enjoyed the first weekend of June. Chris and I had a fantastic weekend, we spent Friday in DC, and then traveled down to Richmond on Saturday. On Friday night, we braved the thunderstorms rolling through the area to have dinner at Pizzeria Paradiso in Georgetown. I had dined there once before with my friend Lauren, so I knew the food would be great, and wanted Chris to try it out. We started our meal off with a delicious salad, shown above. It’s the Insalata Italiana, mixed greens topped with marinated artichokes, white beans, sundried tomatoes, and Parmesan cheese. This was a great beginning to our meal! I would absolutely recommend it to anyone dining there, and would order it again in the future.
I hope everyone had a lovely holiday weekend! Chris and I traveled to Ocean City, Maryland this weekend to stay at my family’s condominium. The beach was packed, but we had wonderful weather, fabulous company, and great food! We woke up early Saturday morning to this view:
My parents came into town this weekend; it was great to see them! After meeting up with my brother for a celebratory birthday lunch, we headed over to my apartment. It was a gorgeous day, so we didn’t sit still for too long! We walked from my place to the Georgetown Waterfront. I took the above picture on the Key Bridge during our stroll!
Happy Monday! I had a pretty low-key weekend, which is never a bad thing.
I made a frittata on Saturday morning with bell pepper, tomatoes, red onion, spinach, turkey bacon, and cheddar cheese. Have y’all ever made a frittata? They’re super easy, you just sauté whatever you want in an oven safe skillet on the stove top, and then pour in 4-5 beaten eggs. Top with cheese and broil for 4-6 minutes in the oven, and serve!
