Hi everyone! I hope you all had a nice weekend! I am finally going back to my externship today, yay!! Before I head back though, I want to tell you all about my weekend!
On Friday, I met up with my mom and some of her friends for dinner at Circa in Clarendon. We decided to split a bunch of small plates consisting of: calamari, a cheese board, lobster ravioli, filet sliders, and a wild mushroom flatbread. I think the wild mushroom flatbread was my favorite! I didn’t take any pictures because it was super dark in the restaurant.
After dinner, we walked over to RiRa and listened to an awesome band named Slamm. I was having so much fun listening to the band that I recruited some friends to come join me at the bar so they could enjoy the awesomeness. If you get a chance to check out Slamm you definitely should. They mix up the lead singer depending on what type of song they are singing.
Hi everyone! I hope you had a nice weekend! Chris and I had a nice and rainy weekend here in DC. The sun is finally supposed to peak out this afternoon and I am so excited! I don’t think we’ve seen the sun since last Monday!
After a rainy Friday, I decided to make some chili for Chris and I to enjoy at home.
Hi everyone! Happy Monday! I hope you all had a nice weekend! I had a super busy weekend in DC, leading up to an even busier Monday. Before we get Monday started off, lets reflect on the weekend!
Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a nice weekend! Chris and I had a busy semi-busy/semi-relaxing weekend in DC. It was kind of nice to be in the district after spending most of the weekends this past summer away!
On Friday, Chris and I headed into DC to meet some friends at Darlington House in DuPont Circle. Chris wanted to watch one of the soccer games that was on, which is why I think he chose Darlington House. It was full of soccer fans!
Happy Friday!! As promised today I have a recap of my first half marathon that I ran in Virginia Beach this past Sunday.
On Saturday night, Chris and I made smoothies to drink in the morning since we were waking up at 4 AM. We combined a banana, strawberry yogurt, a single serving vanilla protein drink, frozen blueberries, a few frozen strawberries, and a handful of frozen peaches. We blended and stored it in the fridge overnight. Bedtime came early– about 10:30.
After my alarm went off at 4, I threw on my running clothes and ran downstairs to finish off the smoothies. I poured them into glasses and added probably a tablespoon of chia seeds to each glass (thanks Carter for bringing us chia seeds!!). We gulped the smoothies down while we made sure we had everything. We grabbed our bibs, connected our shoe tracking chips, and I packed my Camelbak. I debated bringing the Camelbak, but I was so happy to have it for extra water in between stations and to hold my phone, ID, and a little bit of “emergency cash.”
Hey everyone! I hope you had a nice long holiday weekend and closed out the summer appropriately. Chris and I traveled down to Portsmouth, VA to spend time with his dad, stepmom, sister, brother-in-law, and niece. It was a really fun weekend, and as usual, too short!
We left on Friday night around 7:30. We had dinner in the car from DQ- I had a grilled chicken salad, which was shockingly delicious. DQ had lemon juice packets by the drinks, which I used for dressing instead of the vinaigrette packet. A winner in my book for a “healthy” fast food dinner!
Friends! Today is the first day of my new externship and of classes. I’m excited and also not quite ready for summer to end… But, I’m trying to remind myself that fall is awesome and consists of things other than school like crisp mornings, football games, and pumpkin everything! I spent my last weekend of freedom acquiring a new TV addiction — Scandal (OMG SO GOOD!!!!!) and relaxing.
On Friday, I was super lame and watched Scandal after Chris fell asleep early. I thoroughly enjoyed myself :).
