Hi everyone!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Mine was fabulous and too short, as usual!
On Friday, Chris and I went to see American Hustle with our friends Caley and Robbie. Before the movie, I threw together a quick green pepper, ham, and cheese fritata for dinner. It hit the spot!!
I really enjoyed American Hustle and I was happy that Jennifer Lawrence provided some much needed comic relief!! I was happy to see her win a Golden Globe for the role on Sunday!
On Saturday, I was up early for a yoga date with my friend Lauren. Before yoga I had a superfood breakfast! Nonfat greek yogurt mixed with natural peanut butter, chia seeds, and goji berries. This was a delicious breakfast and kept me full through most of the afternoon!
After breakfast, I headed to Yoga District to meet Lauren. We both really like Hannah G’s flow yoga with a power focus. The class was great again this Saturday. Thanks to Lauren’s suggestion and confidence along with the help of the instructor I was able to do my first headstand!!
After yoga, Chris and I did some cleaning and I did some school work. A little later I defrosted some low carb chicken and vegetable soup my mom made. Chris and I both love this soup and do not miss the noodles/rice component at all!
On Saturday night I had a dinner date with Lauren! It had been far too long since we had a girls night!
We had dinner at El Centro in Georgetown and started off with spicy mango margaritas. They were the perfect mix of sweet and spicy!
We started our meal off with guacamole, which was made tableside. It was delicious!
Lauren and I decided to split two entrees. First up – chicken enchiladas. These were great, but I did like the green sauce better than the red.
We also split the mahi mahi tacos, which were really good as well!! We were both stuffed and couldn’t finish off the last taco!! I will definitely return to El Centro!
After dinner, we chatted and enjoyed El Centro’s fun atmosphere before meeting up with some friends at Mr. Smith’s, a piano bar on M St.
I spent Sunday doing some work and watching football with Chris. We enjoyed Chipotle for a late lunch – chicken burrito bowl for me!
For Sunday night dinner, Chris and I enjoyed a mushroom and green pepper pizza on whole wheat crust from Trader Joes. The crust was really dense and chewy, it was also only $1.99, I need to go back and get more!
We watched the Golden Globes and Downton Abbey over dinner. I was shocked at the plot twist for Anna!!
I hope you all have a wonderful week!
What a fun weekend! I am dying to see American Hustle now after the Golden Globes. Maybe next weekend!
