Hi everyone! I hope you had a nice weekend.
I had a jam packed weekend full of fun events! The action began on Thursday. Chris and I went to see Elton John perform at the Verizon Center. It was incredible!!! He played for two and a half hours straight and I enjoyed every minute!! We were in the cheap seats, but they weren’t too bad and I was so happy we had the opportunity to see him perform.
On Friday, I had a make up class and then had to deal with internet issues at home. Sorry I wasn’t able to get a post up for you all.
On Friday night, Chris and I met my parents for dinner at the Old Ebbitt Grill near the White House. It’s one of Chris’ favorite restaurants and my parents were excited to try it! The inside of the restaurant is really historical and gorgeous. The food is great too!!
We shared a cheese plate to begin. The brie was my favorite!
My Dad, Chris, and I split six oysters. The oysters were incredible!!! They may have been the best I’ve had, which is saying a lot because Sea Catch has really good oysters too! I think these were better!!
For my entree, I had the pork chop with an apple and cranberry compote, mashed sweet potatoes, and garlicy sauteed kale. It was delicious!!! I loved the apple and cranberry compote – it added a really nice element to the pork.
We had a great time with my parents are were sad for the night to end.
Early on Saturday, Chris and I headed to Richmond for one of my college roommate’s engagement party!
Chris’ brother-in-law ran the Richmond marathon so we got to visit with his sister, brother-in-law, and niece as well!
After lunch, we headed down to the marathon finishing zone. We were all very proud of Jamon for finishing the marathon!! Quite a feat!
A little later in the evening we headed to the engagement party.
On Sunday, Chris and I had to get out of Richmond to make it home for a Comcast appointment. The good news is that we have the internet again! Bad news is they have to come back again this Friday! Boo!
We bought a frozen pizza from Safeway for a quick and easy dinner. After dinner we caught this week’s Walking Dead. What did you all think of the Governor’s return?? Very interesting!!
I hope you all have a wonderful week!
