Happy Royal Baby Monday!!!! I hope you all had a nice weekend! I had a fun filled weekend at the beach and was very sad to come back to reality this morning.
I headed home on Thursday evening for an early morning dentist appointment. After my appointment, my mom and I got pedicures and manicures, and then headed to lunch!
We had lunch at Off the Hook in Bethany. My mom and I split the fresh asparagus salad to start. This salad was WONDERFUL! It was full of goodies including asparagus, freshly shaved parmesan cheese, egg, super crispy and salty bacon, peppery red onions, and white truffle oil! Very decadent and delicious.
After the salad, Mom and I split the fresh shrimp roll. This was really fresh and not overly covered in mayo – just the way I like it! It was also topped with pickled red onions which added a crisp freshness. The fries were also amazing – I believe they were coated in a parsley oil. Let’s just say there wasn’t a single one left!
After lunch, my mom and I headed down to Ocean City to do some very successful shopping at South Moon Under. After our shopping trip, my dad met up with us for dinner.
KY West is super nice inside and also has a huge bar area that I think will be very popular this fall during football season! The real star, however, was the food!!
The meal began with fresh cornbread that had a wonderful hint of cinnamon – delicious! My parents and I also split the Caesar salad three ways, which was a perfect start to our meal. You could tell the dressing was made fresh, which really makes the salad. I love a good Caesar!
For dinner, I had the Rockfish stuffed with crab imperial. Oh my gosh you guys, this was really, really fantastic. As you can see, the piece of Rockfish was huge AND there was basically a crabcake sized pile of fresh lump crabmeat on top. SO, SO good!!!
The entrées also came with two sides. I chose the braised collard greens and sautéed asparagus. Both of my sides were also delicious!! From what I could tell, the asparagus was cooked in a garlic oil, which really took it to the next level. Also, the collard greens were cooked with bacon and were fantastic! I literally cannot say enough good things about this restaurant – If you’re in the area, definitely check it out!
My dad ordered the same entrée as me. My mom had the Filet Mignon, which was encrusted with bleu cheese. Her steak was also out of this world good!!! I quite honestly don’t know if I liked hers or mine better! I will definitely be back the next time I am at the beach!
After dinner on Friday night, my parents headed home and Chris and our friends Reilly and Lizzy headed into town! When they arrived we walked over to Fager’s Island to have some drinks and chat! Fager’s is always a favorite of mine, because they typically have a band, a DJ, and areas where you can just sit and relax! We chose to sit and relax.
Chris and I were up early on Saturday for a 6 mile run before getting into some festivities in the afternoon. It was hot, but we survived! It was nice to have a change of scenery also!
After our run, Chris, Reilly, Lizzy and I headed down to the beach for a few hours. Around noon, we headed over to Seacrets for drinks and lunch!
My parents met up with us around 2 for a late lunch! The eight of us were able to get a table outside and had a lovely lunch. Thanks Mom and Dad! Chris and I split the crab pizza and the fish taco. Both were really great, but the crab pizza was the winner! It is one of my favorite lunches at the beach – pizza crust topped with crab meat, imperial sauce, and cheese – can’t go wrong with that!!
After lunch, my parents headed home and the kids stayed and played for a little while longer. After Seacrets, we headed home and got cleaned up before heading back to Seacrets that night! We needed to see the infamous moving dance floor!
We had a great day and night at Seacrets. Early on Sunday, Chris and I headed to the Fractured Prune to get fresh hot donuts for everyone! We ordered 4 OC Sands, 2 Morning Buzzes, 2 Peppermint Patties, 2 Peanut Butter Cups, and 2 Strawberry Shortcakes. The donuts were a big hit and we didn’t have too many leftover!
Chris and I enjoyed the day on the beach and didn’t head back to DC until around 7. Luckily our late departure resulted in missing most of the traffic! It was a really wonderful weekend and I’m sad it’s over! At least we have Royal baby news to look forward to!!!
I hope you all had a nice weekend and are looking forward to a great week!
