Hi everyone!!! I want to apologize for the complete lack of posts over the school year. I had hoped to post at least once a month and instead ended up not posting at all. It was a crazy but successful first year of law school. I am happy that I survived and am enjoying a break from school work this summer!! I am working as a law clerk this summer in Old Town Alexandria and am loving my position so far.
This past weekend was hot and busy!!
On Friday night, Chris and I walked to Pete’s Pizza in Clarendon. I bought a Groupon a few weeks ago because I had been dying to try the pizza there and we decided it was the perfect time to use it up!
We ordered the Elm City which is a white pizza with grilled chicken, sautéed mushrooms, and caramelized onions. It was delicious!! The star of the show was the delicious crust, which was soft and pillowy on the inside with the perfect amount of chew. It really may have been the best crust I’ve had –I mean just look at those bubbles!! I love bubbles on my crust. We will definitely be getting another pizza from Pete’s in the future. Next time I think we’ll go for their infamous clam pizza!
After dinner Chris and I walked home and I did some reading before we turned on a movie. I am absolutely loving Jenna Weber’s book, White Jacket Required. It discusses her struggles after graduating from college and not knowing exactly which direction she wanted to take with her life (a feeling I know a lot of people can relate to!).
It then goes on to discuss her decision to attend culinary school with the ultimate goal of becoming a food writer. I definitely recommend it if you like reading food blogs as much as I do! It is a perfect quick summer read.
On Saturday I went to the Tim McGraw concert at Jiffy Lube Live with my best friend Lauren from high school, one of her friends from college Lindsay, and some of Lindsay’s friends from high school. We had a perfect group and had so much fun tailgating before the concert. There were definitely some sights including lots of camo and even a man with the Wawa logo tattooed on his calve.
It was steaming hot but we managed to stay (semi) cool and not get burnt to a crisp. When 7:30 rolled around we headed inside to enjoy Love & Theft, Brantley Gilbert, and then the star of the evening, Tim McGraw!!!
It was such an awesome concert and Tim McGraw was really incredible. He has so many hits and did a great job incorporating a lot of his older songs in with his new material. I highly recommend seeing him if you get the opportunity. We had lawn seats but were still able to see and sing along of course!!
On Sunday I went wedding dress shopping with one of my best friends from college, which was so fun!!! No pictures from that of course! She is getting married next May and I am super excited for her and her fiancé!
Sunday evening I had to work on an assignment for school and then Chris and I watched our standard Sunday night TV shows including Game of Thrones and Mad Men.
For those of you that watch Game of Thrones — can you believe that ending??? My mouth literally dropped! I am so not happy!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and hopefully I’ll be back next week with another post! Happy Monday!!
